Our 1st Wedding Shower/Hawaiian Luau!! :)

A HUGE thank you to my bridesmaids! These girls put so much time & effort into making this the PERFECT kickoff shower for me & Jonathan - and it was just that ... PERFECT!! We couldn't have asked for better weather, people, food, place, decorations, FUN, & gifts!! It was AMAZING!! Thanks to EVERYbody who contributed and everybody who came!! ... Summer Fun ... wayyy past due!! SORRY!!

Ok sooo it's been a while since I've gotten on this to give an update of what's going on in my life. Jonathan and I have had a WONDERFUL summer - the countdown to our wedding is in FULL force now - only 132 days (about 4 months) before the BIG DAY!! It has flown already! It's been great to have some free time to spend with the family this summer because it's so easy to get wrapped up into all the "wedding stuff". I'm sure closer to December it may get a little more hectic, but for now, we're just enjoying the ride.

Sooo our get-away for the summer was going to Marco Island, Florida, which is where we have gone every summer for the past 18 years. We have the best time and it is good to get away from 'reality' for a little bit. We always meet my dad's college roommate & his family down their and their daughter is actually one of my bridesmaids :)

Engagement Pictures at Atlantic Beach!! :)

Yesterday we went to Atlantic Beach with Mary Elizabeth and Michael to get our engagement pictures taken. All morning it was rainy/cloudy so we just knew the humidity, wind and rain were going to leave our hair a disastrous MESS ... thankfully, it wasn't too bad! The closer we got to the beach, the more beautiful it got. It was in the seventies and sunny from 4:00 on ... and our pictures were at 7:15 - PRAISE the LORD!! As soon as we got down to the beach we hung out at my grandparent's trailor for an hour or two, got ready & went down to Fort Macon for the picture session. It couldn't have been a more beautiful place to get them done. Because there was no wind, there were a MILLION little bugs flying around (something like gnats) but they were driving us crazy - that would be the only complaint, however, we're hopeful that Greg can airbrush them out of our pictures - along with a few pounds and a good tan ;)

LIFE ... an update on the past few months :)

Sooo ... just to catch you up on the last few months of our lives, I'll give you one major detail. We're engaged!! (as of February 8th)- if you want to know details on how it happened go to www. theknot.com and type in Jonathan & Emily :) I must say I have the GREATEST fiance in the world. I'm sooo excited, not only about the next several months leading up to the wedding, but WAY more than that - the rest of our lives! :) I'll post a few pictures of the engagement as well as a few since then just to keep everybody on track and updated. (Ok Crystal - as of now, you're the only one I know with this thing ... :) sooo this if for you! - haha - but later this will come in handy to keep everybody else updated (10 years down the road when we have kids & stuff ... while crystal's having her 3rd and 4th)!

Hello hello!! This is my first post - I had no idea about this thing as of a few weeks ago - but Crystal roped me in! It took me a little while to figure out this thing, so I'm just now getting started.
